Why did you choose to enter this work?
While MESTA is the biggest project I have worked on so far, it's also the most meaningful to me as I got a lot of family members and friends involved.
What’s your favourite thing about your shortlisted project?
I got to talk to a bunch of people about their very personal history with migration. Working on illustrations that represent the most vulnerable parts of someone's life was very touching.
Where do you usually work?
In my home office with my slightly overweight cat on my lap.
How long did it take to complete your project?
Concept, editorial work, organizing interviews, illustrating — all of that took about a year.
What is your dream commission?
Working on a graphic novel in cooperation with an author.
What’s your favourite thing to draw?
Boobs!
