Illustration exploring the idea of mental health and dedicating a day of the week for self-care. Just as ironing is a weekly chore, looking after oneself should become a regular routine. The image can be interpreted in different ways, it can also represent the state of mental health when a person becomes dehumanized and becomes a subject of weekly chores.
How was the illustration used: One of the double spreads for a book proposal about mental health titled "Sunday is a Laundry Day" for university brief.
How did you make this work: Linework made with charcoal pencil and scanned. Block of colours digitally added in Adobe Photoshop.

Biography:
Jagoda Sadowska is a Scotland based illustrator from Lodz, Poland. She is currently studying at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art. Jagoda appreciates the narrative possibilities of illustration and enjoys creating a personal relationship with a viewer through her work. She appreciates traditional techniques such as printmaking but also enjoys working digitally in Adobe Photoshop.
