Biography:
My name is Mikayla Feltman. I am currently attending the Savannah College of Art and
Design and pursuing a B.F.A. in Illustration with a concentration in Animated Illustration
and Publication Design. I was born in Albany, Georgia but currently live in Chatsworth,
Georgia. I have always lived out in the rural part of the state and that has really shaped
who I am as well as the influence of my family. Throughout my life, I have lived near a
quail plantation in the middle of nowhere of South Georgia, on a fish hatchery, and near
the base of mountains of North Georgia. These places have really shaped my art and
what I liked to create. I also have been raised around sports and have developed a
passion for them. Sports has always been something I have loved due to the enjoyment
I get from watching games or matches as well as the emotional connection I have with
it. It has always been something that I have been able to bond with my parents with
and that with the united love with have for the games is why it is such a huge part of
my work now. I have won the 2017 Congressional Art Competition for the 14th District
of Georgia and have been featured in SCAD Atlanta’s Beyond the Dot show with two
pieces.
