Interview:

Preferred Pronoun?
She/Her

What’s your favourite thing about your shortlisted project?
I had a lot of fun creating the right atmosphere during this project. This was quite a task, because it deals with such a sensitive subject.

What excites you most about being shortlisted?
I think it's fantastic that WIA2023 offers illustrators and the professional field a stage and gives you the opportunity to show your work to a larger audience.

Where do you usually work?
I have a studio in an old harbor warehouse, together with other creative entrepreneurs. The warehouse has been completely renovated in a circular way and is now a lively place full of creativity.

What is your dream commission?
As an illustrator, I find it important to be socially engaged. A big campaign on a social issue seems very exciting to me!

What’s your favourite thing to draw?
People!

What is your best tip for other illustrators?
Have confidence in yourself and your abilities. A rejection does not have to mean that your work is not good enough. A client may simply be looking for something else.
