Interview:

Why did you choose to enter this work?
In all these projects I was very free and left a lot to coincidence, but at the same time I knew exactly what I wanted. So I am rather surprised that that they turned out so well.

What’s your favourite thing about your shortlisted project?
They are works where I felt I could go a step further by trying something new and that, above all, it worked so well in the end.

What excites you most about being shortlisted?
that i can stand in a row with so many great international artists. especially when some of them are good friends!

Where do you usually work?
Until recently I was in a large studio with many artists, which was great for a few years. But now I work in a big room in a quiet building, alone with a lot of space to work and for my thoughts.

How long did it take to complete your project?
less then then a day, everthing happend very quickly.

What is your dream commission?
louis vuitton travel book. okay that is very specific, but something where i can travel and draw a lot.

What’s your favourite thing to draw?
People in all their diversity

What is your best tip for other illustrators?
never give up! try a lot of things, meet a lot of artists, surround yourself with artists and friends. have a lot of patience. i think you need time to find what you like

What are your plans for the future?
next year i will work on my own book and nothing else. i promise.
