Lisa Heine
Diversity

Exploration

Un-commissioned | Professional

Why did you make this work:
The basic idea was to explore the notion of diversity in the form of a project. I want to show how important it is that our awareness is opened to the diversity in our universe. With colors, shapes and symbols I wanted to create a diverse and lively visual representation of the term.

How was the illustration used:
The illustration served a exploration purpose. I will use it as a portfolio piece and as an orientation to make further style experiments.

How did you make this work:
Intuitively I work with traditional media and mostly I keep the natural graphite textures. I miss working in a technical style, so I tried to translate my idea for "diversity" in a different way. However, since it's about diversity, I didn't want the whole work to look stiff, so I implemented flowing and dancing lines.
