I AM WHAT I AM - the animated film art poster

Chinese intangible cultural heritage "Guangdong Lions Awakening", Passion and Love, Pencil drawing

Interview:

Preferred Pronoun?
he/him

Why did you choose to enter this work?
I have been fond of painting since I was young, and when I grow up, I want to become an illustrator. I can earn money by drawing and create freely, which is the life I want.

What’s your favourite thing about your shortlisted project?
My favorite is the currently shortlisted work, which is my first movie poster in my career.

What excites you most about being shortlisted?
I am very excited that this work has been recognized by the judges, and I am also very happy that China's Intangible cultural heritage - Guangdong Xingshi can be seen by foreign friends.

Where do you usually work?
I usually go outside to gather wind and seek inspiration first. Returning to my own studio work, my studio name is "THX 4 watching Design Studio", which is a very simple and easy to understand name.

How long did it take to complete your project?
This poster took a week to draw and I really enjoyed the process.

What’s your favourite thing to draw?
I like to arrange and combine the movies, books, music, and observations of nature with life, expressing them in my favorite psychedelic way.

What is your best tip for other illustrators?
I think the first thing to think about is whether you genuinely enjoy illustration?!

What are your plans for the future?
In the future, I want to delve deeper into the film industry, expose myself to different film genres, and serve different film art posters. Next is to travel to different places and create freely.
