Why did you choose to enter this work?
I entered a well known Competition to step out of my comfort zone and present my artwork to the public. To me, this work shows improvement and experimentation within my artwork as a whole.
What’s your favourite thing about your shortlisted project?
My favourite aspects of my artwork is the textures and the tones that create a mysterious atmosphere.
What excites you most about being shortlisted?
Honestly I'm really surprised that I was shortlisted and I feel that this is a great start for my art career. I'm excited for other people to view my work and hear their thoughts on it.
Where do you usually work?
I'm usually at my room drawing digitally on procreate with a movie or show on in the background which helps me get in an art zone.
How long did it take to complete your project?
Not long, I was planning some editorials for a University project and the design stood out to me, I believe it took me 5-6 hours.
What is your dream commission?
In the future I would really like to do some Landscape, fantasy concept art commissions.
What’s your favourite thing to draw?
I love drawing animals, when I draw them I don't find myself stuck on proportions, they're very relaxing and enjoyable to draw. I also enjoy drawing plants and natural landscapes as well.
What is your best tip for other illustrators?
Don't burn yourself out, take breaks and go at a pace that you find comfortable which makes doing art much more fun!
What are your plans for the future?
I would really like to delve into the concept art industry after I finish University, I'm planning on possibly doing commissions during my time at Uni to gain inspiration and experience.
