Fluttuante
Hopscotch

Interview:

Why did you choose to enter this work?
This is a lucky work of mine! It was selected as a finalist for the 17th edition of the Tapirulan International Contest in Cremona, Italy.

What’s your favourite thing about your shortlisted project?
'Hopscotch' is a very interesting game. It fascinated me because it's different than the others. In fact, there are no precise rules to follow, nor special skills are required. It's universal.

What excites you most about being shortlisted?
It's a great honour for me and a satisfaction that rewards me for the hard work of the last year.

Where do you usually work?
I work at home, in a small studio. My setup is simple: iPad with Procreate and laptop with the Adobe suite. And a little speaker with music on the side, of course!

What is your dream commission?
My dream job is to collaborate with a film studio to create some experimental and dystopian settings for a science fiction movie.

What’s your favourite thing to draw?
Definitely the shadows on a human's face.

What is your best tip for other illustrators?
If you need inspiration, think outside the box. We illustrators often forget that besides the world of art, there's also the world of cinema, music, literature...

What are your plans for the future?
I want to slow down the pace of my life, use less technology and especially social media, and of course, keep drawing!
