Why did you make this work:
A self-initiated project inspired by Japanese, single-sex bathing called “Onsen”. Through this project, I aimed to capture the tranquillity of the baths and create a quiet atmosphere combining traditional Japanese patterns with clean lines and bold shapes.

How did you make this work:
It was particularly important I captured the essence of Onsen and create quiet and tranquil imagery. As traditional bathing is single-sex I also wanted to create a more feminine environment, showing the space as a female space. For this project, I used watercolour and painted the image traditionally only using digital methods to fine tune.
