Why did you choose to enter this work?
I've always been a fan of the author Yu Hua, so I will consider it as a chance to express my own understanding of the book.
What’s your favourite thing about your shortlisted project?
To use a simple object and color palette to express the theme.
What excites you most about being shortlisted?
It's my honor to receive it, I would consider it as an acknowledgment of the slight improvement of my skills and sense!
Where do you usually work?
A clean table, my sketchbook, and my laptop.
How long did it take to complete your project?
It took me a day or so, once the idea is out, the rest is just the execution.
What is your dream commission?
My dream commission always resides in Book!
So it's either the whole production of book design or book cover design.
What’s your favourite thing to draw?
People in the street and things in my mind, which can be weird looking or normal, but the process of expressing and observing is very therapeutic.
What is your best tip for other illustrators?
I actually never consider myself an excellent illustrator, so it's merely a sharing of my thoughts!
I'll suggest that, keep learning about the work you like, and constantly reflect on yourselves!
What are your plans for the future?
I don't have a solid plan now, but I do have a to-do list for my daily schedule, it might seem small, but the future is made from these little task, so I'll try my best to stick with them.
