Catherine McArdle
Grandpa's chair

Children's Publishing

Un-commissioned | New Talent

Why did you make this work:
This was a self-initiated brief, to write and illustrate a book about a grandpa who just loves his chair so much that he had to take it everywhere. Where would his travels take him? I love to make stories which challenge the norms and create slightly absurd situations, stretching the imagination.

How was the illustration used:
A children's picture book

How did you make this work:
The book has been created using a combination of initial drawings, Procreate and monoprinting, using digital media to manipulate hand printed images to create patterns and textures.
