Why did you choose to enter this work?
This is a non-fiction picture book. The book can not only let readers understand the story but also learn knowledge about ancient China.
What’s your favourite thing about your shortlisted project?
I did rigorous research in this book. I got a lot of materials come from ancient science and technology resources of China Science and Technology Museum.
What excites you most about being shortlisted?
It’s made me more confident and optimistic about myself.
Where do you usually work?
I working at home.The home makes me feel safe and comfortable.
How long did it take to complete your project?
This project spend a whole year to finished.
What is your dream commission?
It’s hard to say how much is my dream commission.I want to be a best seller of children’s book author.
What’s your favourite thing to draw?
Sometimes I like to paint landscapes, travel or unforgettable moments in memory. Sometimes I like painting animals and folk culture story.
What is your best tip for other illustrators?
I hope illustrators can treat painting as entertainment.The most important thing is we can fell happy from painting.
What are your plans for the future?
I will create some spontaneous drawings in the latter half of the year. So I will not serve for business or publishing in the meanwhile.
