Interview:

Preferred Pronoun?
she / her

Why did you choose to enter this work?
From the beginning of this project, I knew that this would be a topic that would attract attention internationally and in this competition. And that is climate change.

What’s your favourite thing about your shortlisted project?
The book brings a very actual topic to children's readers, talking about what is happening in our world today and how our daily lives affect the planet, and life on it.

What excites you most about being shortlisted?
It's a big satisfaction and motivation for me to continue. Also the book was published during covid, so there was no attention on it till now, which is great that has international recognition.

Where do you usually work?
I work in my studio, small atelier filled with people from different creative areas. We are all friends creating this small community here and sharing our experiences and insights.

How long did it take to complete your project?
It depends on the size of the project. It took me 2 months to work on illustrations for this book - from sketches to final illustrations.

What is your dream commission?
Every single project is a dream job for me! But I'd like to focus more on books and editorials. Beeing on the cover of Wired magazine must be great!

What’s your favourite thing to draw?
I like to draw people in unusual situations that can amuse or otherwise enrich a person. There must always be something conceptual.

What is your best tip for other illustrators?
Believe, work and have fun!

What are your plans for the future?
My personal goal is to work more with animation and do animated characters or visuals.
