A self-initiated project taking a single coloured pencil drawing approach towards fashion illustration. Moving away from the classical traditions of realism and into a more unusual style of contemporary drawing with a surrealist edge, this method lets me create something that would likely be absent with an entirely lifelike palette.

This piece is a single-coloured pencil drawing on paper. The simplicity of this creative technique allows me to show the magnitude of one colour - the spectrum of light to dark that can be created when constructing the form and detail shows the visual complexity and variety of tones available.
Aiste is a Lithuanian born, Berlin based mixed media artist whose work often pairs intricate pencil drawings with other traditional or digital mediums. She creates images with a focus on detail and texture, as well as a balance between abstract and figurative. Aiste has worked for fashion, design and media clients including Wired, The New York Times, GQ, Audi amongst others.
