LUSTR Festival Reopens Showcase Open Call

Open to Illustrators, Comic Artists and past LUSTR Exhibitors

LUSTR, the largest Czech festival dedicated to contemporary illustration and comics, has opened its Showcase 2025 open call.

Since 2014, LUSTR Festival has been a celebration of contemporary illustration and comics, showcasing the best of the Czech and international scenes. The Showcase is an open invitation for creators to become a part of this major event and to present their latest work in a professional exhibition setting.

For the first time in five years, artists who have previously exhibited at LUSTR can apply again – provided they did not participate in last year’s edition (2024).

The upcoming edition of LUSTR will take place from September 19 to 28, 2025, at Holešovická tržnice in Prague, bringing together dozens of original exhibitions, lectures, workshops, and a rich accompanying program. The Showcase section offers space to both emerging and established illustrators and comic artists who want to present new projects to a broad audience and industry professionals.

Applicants can choose from three categories:

  • Free Illustration
  • Comics
  • Creative Collectives

Artists working in illustration or comics are invited to submit original ideas or new projects. Both the application and participation are completely free of charge. Selected exhibitors will be chosen by an eight-member jury made up of leading professionals from the fields of illustration, comics, publishing, and curatorial practice.

Showcase 2025 Jury:

The Showcase 2025 jury includes Czech illustration and comics experts such as Nikola Logosová, Jan Šrámek, Petra Widžová, Františka Loubat, Martin Foret, Michaela Kukovičová, Jaromír 99, Tereza Šiklová, Tomáš Brandejs, and Jakub Sedláček.
