Spring Festival Travel Rush

Editorial

Un-commissioned | Professional

Why did you make this work:
This series originated from my observations on passengers in Spring Festival travel rush, the largest annual human migration in the world. Chinese New Year is the most important festival in China, so it's a tradition for them to return home from work during the festival. The way they return home and the bags they carry are different, but the feelings they have for the families are similar.

How was the illustration used:
Illustrations of editorials.

How did you make this work:
This series was done with IPAD . I love the thin & light effect of the Chinese ink painting, and the rough texture of the crayons. varying shades of ink can express the Stereoscopic effect, and the crayon texture could add realism to the figures. The combination of the two enables me to achieve the position for these figures: they are returning home from a dusty journey,Tired but delighted.
