Preferred Pronoun?
She/They

Why did you choose to enter this work?
Creating images is a deeply personal endeavor. I had became an oak tree, accumulating rings of experience while work, and live. And, drawing as a job lets me keep my cat Dole close by at all times.

What’s your favourite thing about your shortlisted project?
The mazes. What I create is not just an image, but an engaging activity. Therefore, my audience becomes more than just readers—they are guests invited into the game I design.

What excites you most about being shortlisted?
Being featured in WIA2024 has opened up opportunities for me to invite more collaborators to join in the planning and creation process.

Where do you usually work?
At the morning dining table, in the noon library, in the afternoon park, behind the counter of a record shop, and on the midnight bedside table.

How long did it take to complete your project?
Sometimes it’s the time to run 5km, sometimes it’s the time to marinate chicken wings. It could be the time for a mosquito bite to heal, or the time for an avocado seed to grow its first leaf.

What is your dream commission?
I have a list: subscribe to Nature magazine, purchase all Maurice Sendak’s books from the recycle store on my way home, and own a Singer sewing machine. Whatever, brings me closer to these wishes.

What’s your favourite thing to draw?
Books you're willing to buy again when seeing them in a second-hand store years later, and jokes that surface when conversation topics run dry.

What is your best tip for other illustrators?
Yoga works for insomnia and tendonitis.

What are your plans for the future?
Collaborate with biochemistry researchers on drawing game books, illustrations, and comics. Learn to bake cheesecake
