Why did you choose to enter this work?
This work is from my MFA thesis project, representing my life-fighting against the allergy.
What’s your favourite thing about your shortlisted project?
I love the idea of all the viruses floating on the bed. It's a surreal scene, but it can make people feel relatable immediately.
What excites you most about being shortlisted?
Being a WIA shortlisted artist is exciting since more people can see my work from the WIA website, the digital catalog, and the offline exhibition.
Where do you usually work?
I usually work in my studio room in my home with an iMac and an iPad Pro.
How long did it take to complete your project?
I spent three weeks on this piece since I was experimenting with combining digital coloring and traditional painting.
What is your dream commission?
Collaboration with a fashion brand is always my dream job.
What’s your favourite thing to draw?
Influenced by surrealist art, fashion styling, and pop culture, I love drawing figures with vivid colors and meticulous details.
What is your best tip for other illustrators?
Practice makes perfect.
What are your plans for the future?
Just try to survive in the cruel world.
