Why did you choose to enter this work?
I chose to enter this work because it strongly showcases my love for illustration as well as fashion.
What’s your favourite thing about your shortlisted project?
My favorite thing about this project is the color palette. Pink is a recurrent color in my artwork, however I usually use subtler shades of pink. With this piece, I enjoyed working with bolder hues.
What excites you most about being shortlisted?
It's an opportunity to share my art with people who would otherwise not have access to it.
Where do you usually work?
I work from a little corner that I call my home studio. It's filled with natural light, and has ready access to all my art supplies and inspirational magazines.
How long did it take to complete your project?
It took about 7 hours to complete this project. The longest part of the process was finding the right hue to highlight the Valentino pink.
What is your dream commission?
My dream commission would be to have one of my works in a fashion magazine.
What’s your favourite thing to draw?
I love drawing anything related to fashion, whether it be creating a full body illustration or focusing on a single accessory.
What is your best tip for other illustrators?
My best tip is to explore different mediums, which will allow you to gain confidence and expand your horizons.
What are your plans for the future?
I plan to expand my brand and continue to work on improving my skills. I would love to take more classes as I think an artist is never done growing.
