2024 | Longlist + Shortlist | Animation
  • Why did you create this work?
To emphasise the feeling of freedom the mouths itself are running around, running free, free to speak as they want. To illustrate the cover for the ‘Freedom Of Speech’ theme of the month the image is both simple and strong, as the feature includes a number of articles with other more specific illustrations. We went for a playful and recognisable large head shape, hand-drawn style and typography
  • How were your illustrations used?
This illustration was used as the main illustration for a theme of the month ‘Freedom Of Speech’ in the literary magazine Host as a printed version and later was brought into an animated version too, adding another lively dimension and even more freedom in its movement.
  • What materials and techniques did you use?
Pencil drawing, digital drawing, frame by frame hand drawn animation.
