1000 and one dinosaurs

Children's Publishing

Un-commissioned | New Talent

Why did you make this work:
Modern cinema depicts dinosaurs as prehistoric monsters, while humans are representatives of culture and progress. But what if humans and dinosaurs swapped places? Imagine modern cities populated by dinosaurs. The book tells a story from the life of a small dinosaur Kolya who has a very busy daily schedule: going to a yoga class, getting a stylish haircut, walking pets and etc.

How was the illustration used:
Picture book

How did you make this work:
The illustrations are made with coloured markers, a black pen and a pencil. The idea was to make an impression as if the book was created by a child. I tried to copy children’s confident and free manner of drawing using adult knowledge and thinking. The book is full of small details and funny moments, which are fascinating to have a long look into.
