Why did you choose to enter this work?
This illustration connects people. I love that it has a big impact - every day it helps children who go to the psychologist feel a bit more comfortable, welcome and happy.

What’s your favourite thing about your shortlisted project?
The work combines the mural as a stylistic device of the old masters with augmented reality elements as a contemporary form of illustration that even excites young people and teens.

What excites you most about being shortlisted?
My mural is in a very special place that few people will ever see – it's a great feeling to share it with the world.

Where do you usually work?
I have my own studio where I draw and design. Although I have mastered all digital styles, I still love paper, brushes, pencils, pigments ....

How long did it take to complete your project?
A year passed between my first walk through the white and empty corridors and the opening ceremony with the Dean of the Free University of Berlin. Around 100 hours were needed for the painting alone.

What is your dream commission?
A dream job has a lot to do with the people you work for. It's about timing, respect and appreciation. If your work makes the world a little better ... then you've got it.

What’s your favourite thing to draw?
I love to draw living things – people, figures, animals, plants – mainly organic forms. I also enjoy working with abstract forms and color shapes.

What is your best tip for other illustrators?
Do your thing. Discover your qualities and your uniqueness – find out what makes you special. Be innovative, be bold, be persistent. Edison made 1000 unsuccessful attempts to invent the light bulb.

What are your plans for the future?
Keep going, create things, reach people, keep writing and illustrating stories.
