Why did you choose to enter this work?
Chronic Probes is a very personal project about chronic illness in all its aspects: psychological, physical and mental. It started very naturally, without even thinking about it.
What excites you most about being shortlisted?
I'm very grateful to be shortlisted for WIA2023, because I wanted to talk about chronic diseases and reach out to a wider audience. I'd love to build a community that could help facing this problem.
Where do you usually work?
I usually work in my studio. Right now I travel between Rovereto, were I live and work and Fabriano (my hometown). I set up two studios where I can paint and work on my laptop. By the way it's Italy:)
How long did it take to complete your project?
Chronic Probes is an ongoing project, it started in 2020 and it's going on since.
It's a visual diary, I take my experiences and transform them according to my surrealistic vision.
What is your dream commission?
A GRAPHIC NOVEL !!!!
What’s your favourite thing to draw?
Flowers, bodies and symbols :) I love to translate into visual metaphor deeper meanings.
What is your best tip for other illustrators?
KEEP EXPLORING! Don't give up!
What are your plans for the future?
Keep working as an artist and illustrator <3
