How did you make this work: ‘The Simmer Dim’ refers to midsummer on the island of Shetland, a time of endless daylight where the sun barely sets but rests on the horizon before rising again. To push my practice through this self-initiated project, the shapes that make up these imagined landscapes were all cut by hand using scissors, from coloured, painted or tracing paper, each one illustrating a Shetlandic phrase.
