- Why did you create this work?
For a project called Bovenop Zuid by Rotterdamse Dakendagen we were commisioned by Opperclaes to paint a wall on the roof. We were invited through the collective that i'm part of called See:Sun Collective. But we each got an individual spot given like all the other artist's that were assigned to paint their own different mural as well. Visitors were able to see the murals for a limited time. - How were your illustrations used?
We were assigned to paint on a shopping mall in Rotterdam that is pretty famous locally and Rotterdam is such a vibrant city with lots of murals to see. I got commissioned to paint this triangle shaped surface with protrusions and ventilation tubes. I basically used the building to make my illustration's come to life such as the traffic light, which is a ventilation for the shops below. - What materials and techniques did you use?
I always draw out a final illustration before i start painting. I start out by measuring the whole surface and then place all the main images roughly with a light chalk marker. It's a mixture of mostly paint with a bit of spraypaint but i work mostly with paint rollers. For the finer details i use brushes and lot's of tape / measuring was used for this project as well due to the geometric lines. - Was this project commissioned?

Kid Kura creates surreal worlds, characters and situations that seem to come out of his own imaginative world. He graduated from the Willem de Kooning Academy in the major of Illustration but has also already completed a Graphic Design study. This has enabled him to create a unique graphic style based on illustration and graphic design. - Where are you currently based?
