A former graphic and fashion designer from New Zealand, Kelley became passionate about the environmental and ethical issues in the fashion industry and beyond, which sparked her drive to create a platform to educate and inspire.

Launched in 2008, Peppermint is now an award-winning print magazine and digital platform showcasing style, sustainability, sewing and substance – a shining example of positive, empowering media with purpose.

Kelley has picked up multiple awards along the way including Best Designer (Consumer Magazines) and also Designer of the Year at the 2009 Bell Awards, the Publish Awards Consumer Magazine of the Year in 2015 (under 20,000 circ.), as well as two Australian Good Design Awards in 2022 for both Peppermint and her own sustainable swim brand, Waverley.

For the last 20 years, Kelley’s focus has been on working in the area of sustainability, social justice, inclusivity, diversity and creativity, using illustration, design and photography to help drive these key messages.
