Why did you choose to enter this work?
I choose to enter this project to share the explorations on how to communicate the story with diverse forms and materials. It shows my growing interest in drawings and paintings with words/writings.

What’s your favourite thing about your shortlisted project?
I enjoyed the making process to collaborate the voice of the hand-made drawings with typography and a film with music, by using the personality of shape language and mixed medias.

What excites you most about being shortlisted?
It is a great honor to learn from inspirational artists and designers, and being in part of this WIA community encourages me to study a new way to share stories and images with more people.

Where do you usually work?
I usually work in my room, which has a vertical long table attached to the window wall that brings sunlight and air, and sometimes, I made large sculptures and paintings on the floor with outdoor mat.

How long did it take to complete your project?
This project was made from June to December of 2022. I began experimenting deeper with paintings and 3d sculptural objects from Der Sandmann Paper Opera, which guided into storytellings with posters.

What is your dream commission?
I would love to collaborate in the environment where the art and design lets the story to be existed in diverse forms. I am interested in learning more about illustrative theaters, books, and sounds.

What’s your favourite thing to draw?
I like to draw from memories, dreams, and imaginations about space, unknown creatures, robots, and words that come from my instincts. I am also interested in drawing pattern and navigations/maps.

What is your best tip for other illustrators?
I appreciate the passion to be curious and open mind to study new inspirations and other people. It provides me the moment to remember why I make and why a heart interested me to begin drawing.

What are your plans for the future?
I would like to study the ways of documenting process with photography, film, and sound, as well as environmental design and ceramics to learn possibilities of sharing experiences within the space.
