Why did you make this work:
I created 6 illustrated labels for CANAL BRASIL's 25th anniversary beer. The collection includes the Brazilian films, Bacurau, Dzi Croquettes, A Vida Invisível and Cine Holliúdy, as well as the programs Larica Total and Choque de Cultura. All the compositions were designed with the logo in the center and there are secondary elements on the back of each can, which complement the institutional text.

What materials and techniques did you use?:
I watched all the productions to choose the right elements for the composition without using the actors' faces. To do this, I focused on the characters' attitudes, body types and costumes. Each can also has a bem-te-vi, a Brazilian bird, which is part of Canal Brasil's identity. The process included stages of sketching and testing the color palette.

How were your illustrations used:
As well as being the beer's official labels, the illustrations have been used in a variety of formats, digital and printed media, such as videos, posters, promotional products and events.

Débora Islas is a Brazilian illustrator with more than 15 years' experience in the creative industry, with work published globally in the publishing and advertising markets. With great versatility, the artist exploits her background in graphic design and her curiosity for different drawing techniques, from collages and creations on paper to artistic representations of realism.
