- Why did you create this work?
Published by Knopf Books for Young Readers, Gravity is Bringing Me Down is a humorous day-gone-wrong story with a scientific twist. Readers follow Leda, who believes gravity is in a bad mood, as she stumbles and fumbles, slips and trips -- whether it's at home, in the classrooms, or at the playground. Can she find a solution to her awful day? - How were your illustrations used?
As the illustrator for this project, I am responsible for all of the visuals in the book, including character design, compositions, and the final artworks. - What materials and techniques did you use?
The book is created through a combination of analogue and digital media. A spreads are drawn in black and white, using a mix of media including guache, acrylics, ink, pencil crayon, and charcoal pencil. The drawings are then scanned and coloured using Photoshop. - Was this project commissioned?
