ProfessionalWhy did you make this work:
The Song of the Tree is a book that I chose to write, illustrate and design. I wanted to echo the rich history of classic book cover design, to celebrate the beauty of the physical book and storytelling.
How was the illustration used: The illustration was used to make a book cover that celebrates the wonderful experience of a physical book for children and adults to read together. Reminding us of the importance of the role that books and the power of storytelling.
How did you make this work: The clothbound cover with it’s delicately detailed blue foiling on a bright green binding is evocative of traditional children’s story books giving the objects a sense of a quality reminiscent of a treasured heirloom, furthering the overall timeless feel of the book.
