Why did you make this work:
Illustrations for the children picture book “Make the earth your companion” by J. Patrick Lewis. A collection of poetic sentences invites listeners to observe, celebrate, and sometimes follow natural environments in specific ways. Mountains, lakes, rivers, sea, grasslands, forests, deserts—even the sky above—all of our natural environs have some message to impart, if we will but listen.

“Walk lightly on it, as other creatures do” several familiar animals (rhinoceros, seal, elephant, tiger, horse) prance across the rounded edge of the planet against a deep red-orange sky. mixed media: watercolour, gouache, pencil, pen, collage, digital.
