  • Why did you create this work?
As a part of the campaign to boost civic pride, me and 11 other artists from different neighborhoods of San Francisco were brought together to visualize the theme 'It all starts here' and create our own designs for the mural. My mural explores the concept of coming together to contribute individually but make a difference as a whole.
  • How were your illustrations used?
The mural was used as a giant coloring canvas for San Francisco residents to paint on, give their personal suggestions to improve neighborhoods and be a part of the civic pride campaign.
  • What materials and techniques did you use?
The final design was drawn on wooden panels measuring 48ft by 4ft with a projection technique. Outdoor acrylic paints were used to add colors and complete the mural.

  • Biography
Based out of San Francisco, Ayesha Rana is an independent visual artist. Her work is colorful, vibrant and exhibits her absolute love for worms in digital, analog and spatial mediums. These worms represent the curiosity and wonder she carries since her younger years. Whether it was their physical form, patterns or movement, that fascination remains paramount to this day.
