Why did you make this work:
Commissioned by Little White Lies Magazine for their 101st issue. The brief was to create character depictions from some of 2023's most high profile cinematic releases. Those featured are 'Priscilla', 'The Killer', and 'The Kitchen'.

What materials and techniques did you use?:
I used traditional graphite and charcoal drawing techniques, before scanning my images and digitally augmenting them with a delicate colour palette.

How were your illustrations used:
Each illustration is a full page within the back section of the print magazine.

Biography:
Andrew Bastow is a Scotland based illustrator specialising in portraiture for editorial purposes. He uses traditional graphite drawing techniques before digitally augmenting his images with a delicate colour palette. He studied illustration in Edinburgh and Dundee. Clients include Variety, The Times, Politico, and Little White Lies amongst others.
