Why did you make this work:
Inspired by a solo trip to NY, I made this personal project, On top of the World. Through the towering skyscrapers, let the giant characters pick you up and guide you with a welcoming hand. No hustle and bustle here, these characters happily take up space with a building sense of excitement as they hop, skip and jump without restriction.

How was the illustration used:
The intention of the project was to explore the combination of digital illustration and photography and to show my illustration work in a different way. I shared it on my website, instagram and Jelly london newsletter.

Biography:
Graduating from Central Saint Martins in 2018 with a degree in graphic design, Alva Skog has done illustrations for Greenpeace, Wetransfer, Vogue, the Guardian, the New Yorker, the New York Times, Coca-Cola and Apple. As a non-binary individual, Skog is interested in intersectional feminism, queer studies and crushing stereotypes.
