Five of 10 postage stamps re-imagining key moments of Lewis Carroll’s classic book to to mark its 150th anniversary. Royal Mail commissioned brand-new illustrations that would re-interpret ten key moments from the story. The images needed to be respectful of the original illustrations by John Tenniel and the long tradition of portraying Alice, but at the same time they had to be fresh and exciting. Royal Mail wanted these stamps to be eye-catching and to appeal to a wide range of audiences, from children to older adults.
