Adrian Holme

Lecturer, artist and writer, Adrian teaches visual theory and contextual studies on the BA Hons. Illustration course at Camberwell College of Arts, UAL. He is an associate editor on the Journal of Illustration, and member of the Illustration Research steering committee.

His cross-disciplinary background encompasses biology, fine art and information science, and he also works as a commercial copy writer. The relationship between art and science is central to Adrian’s research. In November 2013 he chaired and co-curated the 4th International Illustration Research Symposium ‘Science, Imagination and the Illustration of Knowledge’ at the Oxford University Museum of Natural History and Pitt Rivers Museum. Other research interests include alchemy, Romanticism, the ideas of Marshall McLuhan, and illustration pedagogy. A practising artist, Adrian works across drawing, installation and performance, and he participated in the Jiggling Atoms project.

Adrian will be judging the Research and Knowledge Communication category.
