Join the AOI’s Lou Bones for this comprehensive evening event covering all the essential areas for a successful career in illustration including pricing, licensing, self-promotion, understanding the commissioner’s journey and working internationally. We will also be focussing the more difficult issues such as dealing with copyright infringement, fee erosion, late payments, difficult clients and the ins and outs of client negotiation, contracts, fees and industry standards.
Lou Bones will draw on real examples and share practical tips before leading a Q&A. This masterclass is aimed at seasoned professionals and the up-and-coming alike.

Join AOI’s Lou Bones with illustrators Steve McCarthy, The Project Twins and Rothco AD Peter Farry discussing the challenges of sustaining a successful career in illustration, pursuing your personal work and expanding your career through diverse routes. Not just pens for hire, the speakers draw on real examples of working with great clients and share their experiences of how they have turned their personal work into commercially viable projects. We’ll also cover practical tips on understanding the commissioners journey, collaborating with Art Directors, learning to communicate not only with the client but also their audience, harnessing the power of your own audience and the importance of self-promotion before opening up a Q&A session.
