V&A Illustration Awards 2022
Congratulations to Gérard DuBois, who at this year’s V&A Illustration Awards was awarded the Moira Gemmill Illustrator of the Year Prize and Book Illustration Winner 2022. DuBois’s winning illustrations were commissioned by The Folio Society for a new edition of Cormac McCarthy’s The Road.
The awards are in their 50th year, and cover four categories: Book Illustration, Book Covers, Illustrated Journalism and Student Illustration. The 2022 winners were selected by a judging panel of illustrators Dapo Adeola, Ann Kiernan, Axel Scheffler and Posy Simmonds, chaired by V&A Director Tristram Hunt.
You can see the illustrations from winners, runners up and highly commended entries on display at the V&A, alongside previous winners, until 9th October.
We’d like to extend a special congratulations to AOI members Kate Rolfe and Jessica Ciccolone, winner and highly commended respectively in the Student Illustration category!
