Olivia Ahmad joins Varoom as new editor
We’re delighted to announce that starting with September’s Activism issue, Olivia Ahmad becomes the new editor of Varoom, “I’m totally thrilled to be taking on the editorship of Varoom – I’ve been a devoted reader since the first issue and I look forward to working with the team to publish outstanding illustration and spark debate about what it means to us all”.
A lecturer and writer specialising in illustration, graphic arts and design, Olivia has been curator of the celebrated House of Illustration gallery in London since 2014. Her book One Hundred Figures will be published by Tate this year.
The Activism issue will feature creative practitioners using their work to challenge, provoke and advocate on issues from the personal to the local and global, including Seb Chaloner, Tings Chak, Tara Books in India, Pictures Mean Business campaign, US comics activist Seth Tobocman, Himed & Ryben from Mexico, kennardphilips, Mona Chalabi and more. We look forward to hearing what you make of it.
