National Illustration Day 2024
Quentin Blake Centre for Illustration calls all Illustrators, Agencies, Publishers and Courses to be part of National Illustration Day
Illustration is everywhere – in picture books and graphic novels, on posters and signage, and embedded in videogames and apps. As the national charity for illustration, Quentin Blake Centre for Illustration wants to take a day for everyone in the UK to celebrate the pictures that are part of our lives and the brilliant people who make them.
This upcoming 29th November, be part of this special movement to put illustration at the forefront!
How to get involved
- Spread the word. You could use the assets here to tell your social media followers that National Illustration Day is coming up, or post QBCI’s 100 second What is illustration? film.
- If you’re an Illustrator, ask your publishers, agents and clients if they would like to mark National Illustration Day by posting your work on their social media platforms, including it in their newsletters or doing a online Q&A with you.
- On 29 November, join QBCI in a National Illustration Day thunderclap on social media, tagging them and using the hashtag #NationalIllustrationDay2024.
Illustrators, you could post: - a beloved picture book that inspired you to become an illustrator
- an illustration that you use every day
- an example of your own work
Agents and Publishers, you could post: - work by the illustrators you work with
- beloved picture books that inspire you and your colleagues
- illustrations that you use every day
You can also send a National Illustration Day newsletter celebrating all the illustrators you work with, and encourage illustrators to share their work on the day.
Colleges, you could post: - work created by your students online, or in a display on your campus
- illustrations that have inspired you and your colleagues
- work by your alumni
You can also devise a National Illustration Day brief to celebrate on the day.
Tag @qbcentre on socials and hashtag #NationalIllustrationDay2024 so we can share your celebrations!
