TheGallery presents the Jerwood Drawing Prize, hosted at AUB for the third time.
The Jerwood Drawing Prize is the largest and longest running annual open exhibition for drawing in the UK, this year launching its 20th exhibition. It is a joint initiative, led by Drawing Projects UK and supported by Jerwood Charitable Foundation through its London based visual arts programme, and now in association with Bath Spa University.
Selected from original drawings, the Jerwood Drawing Prize has established a reputation for its commitment to championing excellence and promoting and celebrating the breadth of contemporary drawing practice within the UK.
The Jerwood Drawing Prize is a joint initiative, led by Professor Anita Taylor, Dean of Bath School of Art and Design at Bath Spa University and supported by Jerwood Charitable Foundation. The Jerwood Drawing Prize 2014 was launched last September at the Jerwood Space, London and has toured to a numbers of venues across the UK, to include Cheltenham, Bideford, Bournemouth, with its final stop in Leeds.
The exhibition includes 51 drawings by 46 practitioners, selected from 3,234 submitted works.
