Calling All Future Makers!

After a successful last year, Grand Matter is excited to announce the second edition of Future Makers: a programme open solely to illustration-based artists belonging to typically underrepresented groups in the industry.

With the call out for the next group of Future Makers underway, Grand Matter have been looking back together with the current three artists, Aaron Marin, Julie Lai & Wadim Petunin, to reflect on the experience throughout the programme’s inaugural year.

“My main takeaway is to actively chase opportunities and not to just wait for them to fall into my hands. Also, I want to focus more on personal and self-initiated projects like the one I did with Grand Matter’s amazing support because another key aspect of the experience was having the chance to freely talk about my work and how to get it to the next level.”
— Wadim Petunin

You might be a college leaver, a recent graduate, or a newbie to the industry. What matters is a strong sense of who you are as an artist and what you’d like to achieve, along with a healthy dose of creative curiosity.

As one of our Future Makers you’ll get a place on the programme for one year, with exclusive representation from Grand Matter, and all the guidance and support you’ll need to develop your portfolio with the aim of securing some exciting commissions. We have up to three places available on this year’s programme, re-applications are welcome.

How to apply:
