Laura Barrett is an illustrator from South East London, specialising in creating intricate and decorative silhouette illustrations & monochrome patterns. Since graduating from University of the Arts London in 2007 she has worked with a variety of international clients, within the fields of publishing, packaging, stationery, surface design, advertising and animation. With an emphasis on storytelling and an attention to detail, Laura’s illustrations are inspired by the darker side of folk and fairy tales, as well as traditional Scherenschnitte (paper cutting). Her work explores these themes using silhouettes, created by drawing with a graphics tablet straight in to Adobe Illustrator. She loves to work in striking black and white, though is just as comfortable using colour when a project calls for it.—————————————
