Jess Jenkins
Hi I’m Jess, a British freelance illustrator based in France. I specialise in playful characters and illustrating lifestyle themes, all brought to life with bright, limited colour palettes.
I am passionate about illustration, especially for editorial and children’s work. What I enjoy most is storytelling through images- using charm, humour or thoughtful details to make each illustration engaging and meaningful.
My illustrations focus on bold line work, influenced by the manga I grew up reading and refined into a style similar to ligne-claire comics I’m inspired by today. I work digitally but aim to retain a hand-drawn feel through textured lines and subtle imperfections.
I’ve had the pleasure of working with clients such as The Guardian, Monocle, Ferment Magazine, AARP, Frankie Magazine, SafeLives and Radley College. I’m also a member of the InkyGoodness Collective and the Association of Illustrators.
