Jess Jenkins
Hello! I’m Jess – a British freelance illustrator based in Limoges, France.
I am passionate about illustration, especially for editorial and children’s work. What I enjoy most is storytelling through images- using charm, humour or thoughtful details to make each illustration engaging and meaningful.
My illustrations focus on bold, confident line work, influenced by the manga I grew up reading and refined into a style similar to ligne-claire comics I’m inspired by today. I work digitally but aim to retain a hand-drawn feel through textured lines and subtle imperfections. I enjoy using limited colour palettes to create bright, striking visuals. I’m inspired by what brings me joy, often cute animals and the playful, funny moments in everyday life.
I’ve had the pleasure of working with clients such as The Guardian, Monocle, Ferment Magazine, AARP, Frankie Magazine, SafeLives and Radley College. I’m also a member the InkyGoodness Collective and the Association of Illustrators.
