These winged creatures have been poetically associated with eternal spring, sacred messengers, and even bridges between Earth and Heaven. For the Nung, swallows are special planes that transport the hopes, dreams, and tributes of mortals to their supreme beings, and vice versa. This illustration pays homage to these beliefs by showcasing the Nung people being carried by devoted swallows while honoring their traditions with a spread of vegan delicacies.
