Anne Corless works in the creative arts as an artist and illustrator, designer, medical artist and writer. With a love of the natural world Anne’s studio is full of drawings and paintings of people, animals, landscapes and seascapes, created in a variety of media from delicate pencil drawings, charcoal studies and intricate watercolours to vast oil paintings.
Having recently stood down as Chair of the Fine Art Committee after 5 years in the role, Anne continues to enjoy being on the committee and playing an active part in the Fine Art Trade Guild (UK). Previously Anne was the North West Branch Master of the Guild for 3 years. Anne is honoured to be a Fellow of the Guild Society of Artists, run under the auspices of the Fine Art Trade Guild. She is a founder member, former Chair for 4 years and honorary life member of the Association of Animal Artists (UK), a signature member of Artists for Conservation, a professional member of the Association of Illustrators (UK) and the Writers Guild of Great Britain and a professional associate member of the Society for All Artists (UK).
Alongside her work as a fine artist, Anne is a Registered Medical Illustrator, trained and qualified in scientific and natural history illustration (B.A. Hons. Design) with a post graduate qualification (MAA) in medical art. Anne creates specialist art and illustration work for clients around the world. She especially enjoys the challenge of working (traditionally or digitally) in the specialist areas of bio-medical science, zoology and veterinary science. Some of her medical artwork is available on licence from Wellcome Images (part of the Wellcome Trust); a medical picture library and the world’s leading source of images on medicine and its history. Anne is a professional member of the Anatomical Society (UK), the Medical Artists Association (UK) and after a number of years as an associate member, was honoured to be invited to become a professional member of the Association of Medical Illustrators (USA).
