NUJ LFB presents – Reporting the climate emergency
LFB IS proud to present an evening panel event on reporting climate change, on Thursday 23 September
The event features experienced climate journalists and expert communicators to help you understand what you need to know about the climate emergency ahead of the United Nations climate change conference, COP26. This is happening in Glasgow from 31 October to 12 November.
Confirmed speakers are:
- Jess Shankleman – reporter on energy transition and climate change for Bloomberg.
- LFB’s own Susi Arnott, accredited carbon literacy trainer and documentary film-maker
- Environment and sustainability journalist Catherine Early
- Energy & Climate Intelligence Unit Senior Associate Richard Black, a former BBC Environment Correspondent.
LFB’s special panel event on climate change builds on the success of the LFB Freelance Salon format of evening events that combine talks by panels of experts who are working journalists with networking opportunities, wine and nibbles. The climate change reporting event is in the same tradition, although obviously minus the wine and face-to-face networking, since it was planned in the Age of Covid.
The NUJ at its Delegate Meeting (conference) in May voted to commit itself to campaigning on and educating its members about the issues of the climate emergency.
Admission: £5 for students and NUJ members under 25; £10 for other temporary or full NUJ members; and £15 for non-members. LFB will pay speakers at this event.
This will be an online event via Zoom. Book here.
