Flames of Amazonia Launch and Talks

Can Comic Stories Help Defend Our Forests?

‘The Amazon is burning like never before. Intense pressures such as industrial cattle ranching, logging, and mining are destroying Brazil’s forests – the Lungs of the Earth, and the sacred home of indigenous peoples. But how can artists join the efforts to defend our burning rainforests ? Find out by joining us for the launch of ‘The Renegades: Flames of Amazonia’ ! The sequel in this unique comic book series about the epic battle to save the world from the climate crisis’.

 The event includes:

1. A short talk and Q&A about the story, characters, and science of our comic, and the power of art to change the world.

2. Info about the youth cartoon competition, using the power of art to impact the COP26 climate summit, and amplify the voices of the indigenous defenders of the forest.

3. Book-signing.

There will also be an opportunity to visit the gallery of the cartoon museum – a wonderful display of comics and political cartoons through the centuries (note this requires purchase of separate ticket which you can purchase here: ).

While our comics are mainly aimed at young adults, teens, and kids aged 9+, please consider joining us whatever your age, because you’re never too old to play your part in saving the planet !
